The series "The Faces of The Big City" is drafts, light sketches of emotionally-potent personae populating the urban environment of the megapolices which are easily recognized in the megapolices around the world and which became practically archetypical.
Some personae have been in the city for so long that it seems they are fully made up of the urban spaces: buildings, streets, squares. Their movements are fast like highways, their eyes sparkle like jeweller's showcases, their talk dazzles with memes and signs, the sound of their voices is at the same time dazzling and faceless like the crowd of newcomers who burst into the city though to find themselves or to lose is unknown.
The cities replace the man with themselves brick by brick. Or so it seems. But these personae, I repeat, have been in the city for such a long time that another thing becomes clear: they are the bricks of the cities, they bind themselves into the fabric of the cities and build the cities with themselves. They are the fabric, the material. And the city reflects them, it writes their thoughts on their billboards and into its manifests, it sings with their voices, it moves on the trajectories they define.
