Chapter 1/ Object 2
"Gallery of the Souls"
Public pavilion.
Dive deep into the object and listen its story through the video
In the environment we find an object that gives us impetus to study it: we approach, touch, and consider it.The object communicates with us; it gives the impression of being alive, a mysterious, alien creature or a part of it. It pulses, broadcasts incomprehensible information via using light, movement, sound. We find the key that helps us decode this information, presented in the form of a QR code located on the object. We activate it and see a figure archetypically resembling a bird on the screen. It symbolizes consciousness, passing through a series of transformations in different environments and forms, passing from one form to another in a spiral of evolution.

After each transition, the bird rises higher and drops the feather of its previous incarnation:

  • fire
  • water
  • air
  • stone (earthy or mineral matter)
  • living cells (organic lifeforms)
  • plants
  • aquatic life forms
  • animals
  • humans
  • butterflies and dragonflies (the earthly part of human soul)
  • birds (the heavenly part of human soul)
  • ecosystems (deserts, woods, mountains, seas)
  • the planet Earth
  • the Solar System
  • stars, galaxies, outer space

As the story progresses, a text which provides an explanation is displayed. It ends with the manifestation of the overall goal of the project:

"I am Space Consciousness and I have no boundaries, no limits, no matter which form I take. And I want to reveal myself in you."

THE WALK THROUGH THE PAVILION:
1. The entrance is obvious, clearly marked. On the outside of the object the feather stretches out a few filaments on the path leading inside. The filaments end in a likeness of welcoming, beckoning palm. Directly above the entrance, another improvised feather-palm covers us. Turned palm down, the feather-hand is curled in a soothing, guiding gesture. It's used to symbolize both the fact that the feather itself is a safe space and no harm will come to the visitor as well as the start of the journey through which the feather will guide us. It offers patronage and incites us to trust and to engage ourselves fully in the process.

* welcoming / beckoning palm on the path to the feather

* blessing / soothing hand palm on the entrance

There is a writing above the entrance:

Hello, I am glad to see you. Come inside.

2. We enter into the first pavilion through a narrow gap. We observe a bird flying up, shedding feathers made of ceramic in a shape of all levels of consciousness.

Each feather is higher than the previous one. And above all we see the visualization of Space and the abstract bird-shaped lamp representing the light of the Cosmic Consciousness. There is a writing on the wall.

3. We enter into the next pavilion. It is made out of cells, each cell contains various landscapes coated in epoxy resin. The words on the entrance to the new pavilion state:

"I am all things together and each thing separately. Just as you are".

4. We enter into the next pavilion, where we can try on every image of the soul. The space is rather narrow and dark. The walls, ceiling and floor are painted dark grey, so that one cannot exactly tell them apart. There are ceramic wings made in the form of various environments (linked to the feathers from the previous pavilion) on the wall behind us. On the opposite side is a mirror in which one can see one's 'winged' reflection. The mirror itself is actually a part of a ceramic mural. Looking in the mirror, one can 'try' on different layers of consciousness while remaining oneself at the same time. The desired effect (the feeling of togetherness) is achieved through visually combining one's reflection with images of various creatures or entities.

5. Finally, we enter into the absolute darkness of the last pavilion. Our only light is the narrow path of the diode line on the floor. The words on the exit state made from light:

"I am consciousness and I have no boundaries, no limits, no matter which form I take. And I want to reveal myself in you."

6. We exit also through the spiral and find ourselves on the site from which we can look at the feather from above. It's like we move to our familiar mundane world and discover this new object (the feather) in it. We descend the stairs and exit.

THE GALLERY OF THE SOULS:
I used to be fire, burning hot. I used to be water. I used to be air.
I used to be a stone, heavy and solid.
I balanced out the elements inside myself and became a cell, living, growing.
I used to be a flower, and I grew and grew and grew, and when I blossomed ...
... I blossomed into a fish, fast and sleek and salty as the seas I swam through.
I used to be different creatures, growing ever more complex with each iteration.
And then I became human and wanted to know what is up there in the height above, so I became a butterfly.
I became a butterfly, but my fragile wings could not carry me high enough, so I became a bird.
I became a bird, flying high among the winds and clouds, but even the sky was not enough.
I started growing again, bigger and bigger, expanding my borders, embracing more, taking in more and more of the world into myself. I became islands, I became mountains, continents even.
And I wanted more still, I wanted to connect all the things inside myself, and so I became the planet…
then I became the solar system..
and then I became the galaxy…
and then I grew and grew and grew until I contained everything.
"I am all things together and each thing separately. Just as you are".

"I am consciousness and I have no boundaries, no limits, no matter which form I take. And I want to reveal myself in you."
